Sharjah, United Arab Emirates — Creative & media studio
A creative studio for brands that want the work to hold up.
Fiveyards is an independent creative and media studio based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. We work with a small number of clients at a time on brand direction, content and production — carefully, and in the open.

Where the name comes from
The name comes from the last stretch of ground: the part of the work where an idea either becomes something usable or quietly falls short. That final distance is where we spend our attention.
Studio reference materials

- 01
Small by choice
The studio takes on a limited number of engagements so the people who scope the work are the people who make it.
- 02
Written before visual
Every engagement begins with a written understanding of the objective, the audience and the constraints. Design follows the argument, not the other way round.
- 03
Made to be used
Work is delivered in the formats, sizes and file structures the client's team actually publishes with, along with the notes needed to use them well.
Brand & Creative Direction
Establishing what a brand is saying, to whom, and what it should look and sound like when it says it.
Content Development
Planning and producing the ongoing material a brand needs to stay coherent across channels.
Photography & Video Production
Original photography and film, produced on location or in studio, from planning through final delivery.
Campaign & Launch Support
Turning a single idea into a consistent set of assets a team can roll out without losing the thread.
How we work
Scope in writing, before anything is made.
Read the full approach
- 01
Conversation
We start with a call or written exchange to understand the objective, the audience and the constraints. If the studio is not the right fit, we say so at this stage.
- 02
Written scope
Before any creative work begins, we set out in writing what is being made, what is included, who is responsible for what, and how the work will be reviewed.
- 03
Direction
We agree the creative direction on paper — references, structure, tone — so that production begins from a shared understanding rather than a guess.

Who we work with
Sectors where the work has to hold up.
We take a limited number of engagements at a time, across the United Arab Emirates and the wider Gulf by arrangement.
Property & development
Residential and commercial developments that need a consistent visual record from launch through handover, and material that works for both sales teams and channel partners.
Hospitality & food
Restaurants, cafés and hotel groups where the photography has to carry the room, the plate and the service standard at the same time.
Professional & B2B services
Consultancies, clinics, legal and financial practices where credibility is the product and the visual language has to earn trust before a word is read.
Retail & consumer brands
Product-led brands that need an asset system deep enough to feed a launch, a catalogue and a year of channel activity without repeating itself.
Culture, education & institutions
Programmes and institutions with a mandate to explain themselves clearly to several audiences at once, in more than one language.
Founder-led businesses
Companies where the founder is the brand and the work has to be truthful about that without becoming a personality exercise.
Single project
One defined outcome with a written scope, a fixed fee and an agreed delivery date. The most common way clients start with the studio.
Suits: A launch, a rebrand, a shoot, a campaign.
Phased programme
A larger body of work split into phases that are individually scoped, approved and invoiced, so neither side commits to a year of assumptions on day one.
Suits: Multi-stage rollouts and staged openings.
Monthly retainer
A reserved allocation of studio time each month against an agreed plan, reviewed quarterly. Priority scheduling, one point of contact, no re-briefing from zero.
Suits: Ongoing content and in-house teams needing capacity.
Advisory
Direction, review and creative oversight of work produced elsewhere, without the studio holding production. Priced by session or by month.
Suits: Teams with production capability but no settled direction.

Briefs · 12 May 2026
What a usable brief actually contains
Most briefs describe a deliverable. The useful ones describe a decision. Six things we ask for before quoting anything.
Studio practice · 24 March 2026
Why we put the scope in writing before anything is made
Written scope is not bureaucracy. It is the cheapest place to have the argument that would otherwise happen in post-production.

Planning a shoot in the UAE: heat, permits and the hours that actually work
Practical notes on scheduling production between Sharjah, Dubai and the northern emirates without losing a day to logistics.
- How quickly can you start?
- Scoping conversations usually happen within a week of an enquiry. Production start depends on the calendar at the time; the studio holds a limited number of concurrent engagements, so we give you a real date rather than an optimistic one.
- Do you work outside Sharjah?
- Yes. We work across the United Arab Emirates as standard, and elsewhere in the GCC where the brief justifies it. Travel and accommodation outside the emirates of Sharjah, Dubai and Ajman are quoted at cost and shown separately on the proposal.
- Do you work in Arabic as well as English?
- Studio direction and documentation are produced in English. Arabic copy, adaptation and typesetting are delivered with established partner linguists under our direction, and that arrangement is stated in the scope rather than implied.
- Who owns the finished work?
- On full settlement of the fee, ownership of the final approved deliverables transfers to the client, subject to any third-party licences — fonts, stock, music or talent — which are listed in the scope with their own terms.
